The Strasburg Railroad was founded in 1832 and its main purpose was to serve as a freight interchange with the Pennsylvania Railroad. Visitors can take a 45-minute ride to Paradise, Pennsylvania to explore the Dutch countryside and choose from several tour experiences including a ride in the President's Car, the Parlor Car or in one of the open air cabins. A self-propelled motor car is also available and runs on the tracks for several days in March and November. You can dine at the railroad, take the kids on the Day Out with ThomasTM ride and participate in themed events including Santa's Paradise Express or the Great Train Robbery.
